Aftermarket industry awards open to independent garages

The automotive aftermarket’s awards season is in full swing and garages are being encouraged to enter their workshops and staff into various industry awards.

Jane Wright, head of marketing at Garage Services Online said: “Independent garages are often so busy, they just don’t have time to think about their marketing.

“Whilst their website forms the core of all marketing activity, they need to look at additional ways to talk about what they do and their achievements.

“Entering awards is a great way to do this. Even achieving the shortlist will enhance a garage’s reputation; winning is just the cherry on top of the cake! And overall, the positive PR that comes from awards helps with customer retention and can attract top technicians.

Whilst the judging process is already underway for award schemes such as Aftermarket magazine’s Top Garage and Top Technician Awards and the IGA’s BIG Awards, there are a couple currently open for entries.

The Blend Awards 2023 and the Motor Ombudsman’s Star Awards

The Blend Awards 2023 includes two new categories: ‘Garage of the Year’ and the ‘Staff Recognition Award’. Both are open to any UK and Irish independent garage. Entries must be submitted online at https://www.theblend.events/awards before 31 July.

The Motor Ombudsman’s Star Awards are open to any independent garage accredited to The Motor Ombudsman. Nominations close on 15 October and more information can be found at https://www.themotorombudsman.org/awards.
